Our Story
The Unity Cup began as a one-time event in Taupo last year, where four passionate teams came together for a friendly soccer tournament. The response was amazing, and the interest it sparked went beyond our expectations! Following the positive feedback from participants and spectators, we knew we had to make this an annual event and grow it into something even bigger.

For 2025, we’re bringing the Unity Cup to Gisborne with a vision to make it an inclusive experience for everyone—men, women, and kids alike. Beyond soccer, we’re excited to offer a variety of activities and entertainment for all ages, making this much more than just a tournament.
To ensure that everyone feels a part of this journey, we’ve incorporated representatives from all regions in the planning and execution. Together, we’re working to make this year’s event unforgettable. Moving forward, we plan to rotate the tournament among cities across New Zealand, so every community has the chance to host and celebrate this unique gathering.
